How do I take a still photo with Pivothead?
The same concept for video recording applies to still photos, simply press the Pivothead button backward to take an Eight Megapixel still photo. In addition to the single photo feature you can also take burst mode and time lapse mode photos.
How do I know that I am recording?
A red light on the inside temple blinks slowly to indicate video recording is in progress.
How do I record video with Pivotheads?
Recording video with Pivothead is simple. Put the glasses on and look at what you want to record. Press the Pivothead button forward to record HD video, press it again to stop and save.
Is the device “plug and play” with both PC and Mac?
Yes, Pivothead is compatible with both PC and Mac. Simply use the USB cable to download directly to your computer, iOS device or Android. In addition, Pivothead comes with free Control Setting Software that lets you control every aspect of your glasses. download
What can I use Pivothead for?
Pivothead easily captures video or photos anywhere, anytime, in High Definition Hands Free (HDHF). We at Pivothead want you to record your life from the most unique vantage point in the world — yours.
How can I view the video I just shot?
To view a video you just shot simply plug the glasses into any computer device. Pivothead was designed to function just like a USB stick, once the glasses are on and plugged in you’ll find the Pivothead drive on your local computer.
Can I erase video I just shot?
Not directly via the glasses themselves however if plugged into any device you’ll be able to delete your content.
How much memory does my Pivothead Video Eyewear come with and do I need to purchase anything else before recording?
Pivothead has 8GBs of memory built in so you’re ready to go right out of the box – no memory cards needed, no additional mounting accessories required.
How much video can I shoot with Pivothead?
Each 8GBs of memory holds approximately 60 minutes of 1080p HD video.
Can I record while plugged in and charging?
Yes, you can! When the glasses are plugged into a charging device you can record at the same time. However, that charging device can’t be your computer.
Pivothead Eyewear FAQ
Are the lenses interchangeable?
The Recon series come with three different interchangeable lenses – gray (polarized), yellow and clear. The Moab series comes with two different lenses but are different depending on the style. Other models can have their lenses popped out but are not officially supported interchangeable lines.
Are the lenses polarized?
The Durango series is polarized with the exception of the Chameleon model. The Recon series comes with three interchangeable lenses of which the grey lenses are polarized. The Moabs come with two interchangeable lenses, one of which is polarized. The Aurora series is not polarized. All detailed specs can be found here on the product page.
Do the Pivothead lenses offer UV protection?
Yes, all Pivothead lenses block 100% of UV light, offering UV A/B/C protection.
Are prescription lenses available?
Right now any optometrist can retro fit the Durangos with prescription lenses. This summer we will have the ability to supply Rx lenses the same way all top sunglasses manufacturers do. This can only be done for the Durangos at this time.
Are any of your glasses designed for Impact Resistance?
Although we haven’t tested for Z87.1 safety rating yet, the Recons and Moabs were both designed to pass this stringent safety test. All glasses currently have passed the Z81.3 Safety rating for Impact Resistance
Air Pivothead FAQ’s
If I don’t have an Air Pivothead, can I use the iOS or Android Apps to connect/control Glasses?
For devices running iOS (iPhone, iPad, etc.), the Air Pivothead accessory is necessary to control the Pivothead settings using the iOS app.
For devices running Android 2.3 or above, it is possible by connecting your Android device to memory storage using an OTG adaptor. Please refer to the Air Pivothead User Manual for more information on this topic. Click here to download a copy of the Air Pivothead instruction manual.
How long can I use Air Pivothead before I need to recharge the battery?
It will depend on how you use your Air Pivothead.
Once charged, the battery allows the Air Pivothead to generate a hot spot for up to 3 hours.
For streaming HD 1080p video from an SD Card, one battery charge will last approximately 2 hours. Streaming time will vary with USB memory devices based on their individual power needs.
If you are transferring files from your Pivothead Video Recording Eyewear, one battery charge will last approximately 1 hour (During this time, your Pivothead Pivothead Video Recording Eyewear is also given a boost charge. Allowing another approximately 40 to 45 minutes of HD 1080p video recording time.).
Remark: The Air Pivothead can operate while it’s being charged. It is therefore possible to connect it to a standard 5V car charger or an emergency phone charger to have unlimited hot spot capabilities.
Can I use the Air Pivothead as an Emergency Charger?
Yes. When switched ON, Air Pivothead will supply power to the device connected to the USB port. Any device that can normally be charged by a standard USB port (<500 mA) can be charged using Air Pivothead. Because Air Pivothead will also generate a Wi-Fi hotspot, the charging time will be approximately one hour.
Can I connect a 3G USB to the Air Pivothead to create a WiFi hot spot?
No, the Air Pivothead does not support this function.
